ADHD Assessment
PCIT Session
Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment for young children with behavioral problems. Some of the behaviors are, but not limited to: explosive reactions, defiance/noncompliance, power struggles, negative attention seeking, power struggles, sibling rivalry, frustration tolerance, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Live coaching is used to help parents prevent and manage their child's most difficult behaviors. While you and your child are interacting near your electronic device, I will coach you through an earbud via teletherapy. I will use research proven and effective communication that will help strengthen your relationship with your child, improve behaviors during and outside of sessions, and provide you with techniques that will allow you to set boundaries and consequences when your child is not listening. Parents have reported positive changes in their child's behaviors at home, school, daycare, and also decreased stress levels.
Ages: 2.5 - 10 years old
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) includes attention difficulties, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. ADHD often begins in childhood and can also carry on into adulthood as well. I provide ADHD assessments and screenings that focus on an individual's Executive Functions, which are a set of cognitive processes that are a must for cognitive control. During an assessment, we briefly discuss your concerns related to relationships, shifts in mood, how conflict is dealt with, organization and prioritizing of tasks, and other areas of functioning. You will then complete an ADHD assessment form, and I will provide you with scores that pinpoint any areas of executive functioning that you may show significant difficulties. Lastly, you will receive ADHD psychoeducation and tools that will help provide you with support and guidance to better manage ADHD symptoms and behaviors.
